Bergen - Bergen became an interesting race, as Heine Vangen from Millican and Gordey Malykhin from chupacabra opened up the stage with an astonishing attack after only 11 km. The two riders managed to keep a gap to the peloton all the way through the stage, though one rider was termined to catch them up. Ignace De Raemaekers (Team Belfius) easily joined the break away after 56 km, which now consisted of three strong riders.
Heine Vangen, who originally launched the attack, had problems following the other two in the end, meaning that he could not take part in the sprint, though he was only 7 seconds behind. The sprint, which was opened by Gordey Malykhin was very close, and it was only in the ending Ignace De Raemaekers managed to get the lead and win on the rainy day.
For the second time this season Ignace managed to get a BA-win for our team.
We're extremely proud as he joined our team 11 seasons ago.
He never truly reached his full potential though due to financial issues.
As he is entering the last years of his carreer Ignace told us in an interview he's willing to pick up a spot in our staff as a Trainer.
Of course we would be delighted if he'd teach his breakaway skills to our young riders who are eager to learn from this BA-master!
